R.I.P. - Steve Ellenger (2/O). Fell out of a Land Rover and was killed on the Royal Wedding Day - 29th July 1981. With his bohemic nature he became almost a cult leader for the CTU on this trip. Smoked rollup cigarettes in licorice paper and within a few weeks of sailing, everybody was buying Old Holborn using licorice papers. Caused a bit of a stir when we hit the United States as the US Navy guests assumed we were smoking "weed" at the cocktail party
