Born 8 Dec 1962 in Plymouth. Currently living in South Shields. Time-served Electrical Fitter in HM Dockyard, Devonport, Plymouth Joined the RFA in 1985 - Olna, in Smiths Dock North Shields. Served in Olna, Diligence (x2), Regent, Olmeda (x 2), Brambleleaf, Fort George, Fort Victoria, Argus (x2), Bedivere, Tidespring, Fort Austin I stood by new-build - Fort Victoria and then Fort George. I was the part of the first systems engineer team (pioneering/experimental) at that time, on the Olmeda with Frank North (Ch Off SE) and Roy Burrows. I was the first systems engineer officer appointed to FOST (First Officer SE) in 1997 - I had the title of ME6 to FOST. I relieved Rick Houghton who was the last Electrical Officer appointed to FOST. This was my last appointment with the RFA and I resigned to take a job on a Cable Laying vessel as an ETO. I am currently working in the oil and gas industry - I started as an Electrician and progressed to senior positions. Presently, I am working onshore in Angola as a Technical Superintendent overseeing a 6th Generation Ultra Deep Water Drillship.
